Is my Armstrong warranty transferable?
No, the warranty is good only for the original purchaser.
Should I expect color variations in my floor?
Yes - wood is a product of nature; therefore, you will see variations from board to board in all categories. No two boards
are ever the same.
How does hardwood compare to other flooring materials?
Other floor covering materials simply can't compare to the natural beauty of hardwood flooring. Hardwood floors outperform
and outlast almost any other floor covering material.
Are hardwood floors expensive?
There are many different price points within hardwood flooring. But, when you compare the life cycle of hardwood floors versus
other floor covering material, then you realize just how inexpensive hardwood floors really are. Most hardwood floors will
last a lifetime while the average lifespan of carpet is 7-9 years. So you could replace carpet 3 or 4 times in a 30-year period,
while simply maintaining one hardwood floor.
What's the best finish for a hardwood floor?
All Robbins floors have either ForEver II or ForEver II Satin finishes. Both finishes now include Aluminum Oxide which provides
a tough, wear resistant finish. ForEver II (average gloss level is 70%) and ForEver II Satin (average gloss level 35%) are
made using aluminum oxide crystals suspended in multiple layers of ultra-violet cured urethane.
My wood is denting. I thought I was buying hardwood?
Hardwood contains a cell structure; therefore, if enough pressure is applied, the cell wall will collapse and a dent will
appear.
I moved my area rug and my wood is lighter where my area rug was. What happened?
Wood goes through a natural aging process called patina. Bright sunlight can also accelerate this condition. Moving area rugs
or other items that may cause this effect from time to time is recommended.

ROBBINS HARDWOOD FLOORING INSTALLATION
Can I install Robbins hardwood floors myself?
Of course. All it takes is a little planning and a free weekend. Flooring can be glued-down, nailed-down, or even stapled-down
in some instances. Installation materials are available at most major home center stores. Click for Installation Instructions.
Complete installation instructions can also be found inside each carton of Robbins Hardwood Floors.
Where can hardwood floors be installed?
Hardwood floors can be installed almost anywhere in the home. Solid products can be installed on or above the outside soil
line while engineered products can be installed on, above, or below grade, including basements. The only place Robbins does
not recommend hardwood flooring is in wet areas like bathrooms.
ROBBINS HARDWOOD FLOORING MAINTENANCE
Are hardwood floors easy to care for?
Yes. In fact, hardwood floors are just as easy to care for as any other floor covering material. Click for complete care instructions.
Can I place a rubber-backed mat on my Robbins hardwood floor?
We do not recommend it, as rubber-backed mats can trap moisture and possibly discolor your floor. Instead, to prevent slippage
of the area rug or mat, use an approved vinyl rug underlay from a reputable manufacturer.
Can I refinish my Robbins hardwood floor?
Yes, however, Armstrong is not in the refinishing business, therefore, we do not have specifications on how this should be
done. We'd suggest that you contact your local Robbins retailer to discuss who in your area refinishes hardwood floors, or,
you may look in the yellow pages of your phone book for a list of hardwood refinishing companies in your area.
Is there a stain formula available to match my Robbins hardwood floor?
We do not have stain formulas available. In order to get a stain to match your hardwood floor, we suggest that you take a
sample of the wood flooring product as well as the wood you are preparing to stain to a stain specialist that can custom blend
and mix the product to order. Most major paint stores have custom mixing programs as do most of the major home centers.
